Jonathan and Kristin are so good for each other. You could feel their “chill” nature from the beginning of the rehearsal…they had this weekend in the bag. It was the kind of energy I want for all my couples. But it isn’t something you can just switch on. Hopefully, following along with the steps below, you’ll begin to grow confident in having the beautiful wedding of your dreams.
The idea of standing before everyone at your wedding ceremony probably makes you nervous. Of course. It should!! This is THE one-time moment. You’re uniting your lives forever! Plus, didn’t you invite them? 🙂
Naturally, after that, any couple should be relieved. Happy even! YOU’RE ACTUALLY MARRIED!! The planning and stressing is over and you can relax.
For many, they take that mindset a bit far. Couples coast into their reception and celebrate that they got through the ceremony and the party can begin. What if I told you this is where you can take your wedding experience from good to great?
There are secrets very few in the wedding industry will share with engaged couples. Either they are afraid it sounds preachy, it “doesn’t sell”, or they simply don’t see it. For years, I have struggled to share these secrets with my clients because much of it won’t make your wedding look a certain way. If you’re “doin’ it for the gram”, nobody will see it.
Give gifts, quality time, acts of service, physical touch, and affirming words to those who have been and will always be in your life. Be a mirror and reflect the love others have for you. This shows maturity and depth of character that lasts long after any wedding buzz has gone.
Do you know what happens when you privately give a special gift or use the microphone to publicly recognize special people in your life on your wedding day?
Nobody laughs unless it’s funny and then they’ll laugh harder.
Nobody makes fun of you, if anything they have a new appreciation for you.
Everyone remembers those moments. Those shared experiences are seared into guests’ minds and hearts forever.
Guests will be swept up! With great food and drinks and the right conditions, the natural course of the evening will bring them onto your dance floor where it’s my job to keep them for the rest of the reception. Yes, it is that simple. Yes, you can do it!!
“Doing the work” means putting in the time and effort well in advance, often in secret, without knowing if there will be a “payoff”. It must be an act of love. Doing the work is not easy, but so worth it.
If you have a professional videographer capturing audio, even better! You can relive each moment as part of your bigger story that can be re-shared forever.
Start with the end in mind, and work backward. Think about what matters most to you, and make time for those important moments. It does not have to take a lot of time, or be grandiose. If you have questions, I can help you privately. Together we create a blueprint that gives action steps and way-points to make sure you’re on target. Less stress, more hope, less uncertainty, more anticipation, less drama, more peace-of-mind. The first step is to reach out. We will get started as soon as you’re ready.
